RUMOUR: Spinlet To Acquire Ghana’s Mobile Music Streaming Service, Streemio

Spinlet, Africa's premier mobile music streaming and download service is rumored to have acquired Ghana's mobile music streaming startup, Streemio, a yet-to-be- launched music service founded in January 2010.
We learned that the Streemio team would be joining Spinlet and its music catalog
would be added to Spinlet's catalog exceeding over 1 million songs for users to
stream and download. I reached out to Spinlet CEO, Eric Idiahi who declined to comment, but said that the company will be making some announcements soon.
The financial details of the deal are still
unknown, but sources say that the acquisition talks are in their final stages. The deal if confirmed would make
sense for Spinlet as it wants to become the
number one destination of African music
content.
This rumor comes as Deezer, a major
international music service recently
launched in several African countries, including Nigeria this week and iROKING, a direct competitor to Spinlet in the local digital music war launched its
mobile music download service, currently with over 100,000 registered users.
We're not sure about Spinlet's user numbers and music download numbers since launch, but perhaps that's part of the
announcements we'll be hearing soon.
Streemio and Spinlet could not be reached
for comment. I'll keep you updated as we
know more.

In what may be termed as the surprise of the month, EME act, Wizkid made an appearance at Banky W's 'The Grand Love Project' concert held yesterday, Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 22-year-old superstar who has been throwing tantrums on social media, and is reportedly trying to disengage from the label, walked in about two hours after the show kicked off, accompanied by his girlfriend, Tani and a body guard. He did
not get a rousing welcome from fans nor a mention from Banky W. The event's MC, Seyi Law also did not acknowledge him.
At exactly, 1:10 am, our reporter
spotted him leaving with his train. He left in a red BMW car with number plate, 'W' accompanied with two jeeps and soldiers.

Goldie died of drugs-close friend reveals

Nigeria's music diva, Susan Oluwabimpe Harvey, popularly known as Goldie, who died Thursday night may have died as a result of doping complications, close sources to her said.
She died last night at Reddington Hospital, Victoria Island, Lagos, and barely few hours after she arrived from Los Angeles, United States of America.
Goldie's death was confirmed yesterday by her management via her Facebook and Twitter.
The post reads: "It is with heavy heart that I have to announce to you all that Goldie passed on this night (last night) shortly after arriving Lagos from Los Angeles. May
her soul rest in the eternal peace of the Lord… Amen."
A source close to the music star confided in P.M.NEWS that Goldie died of complications from the use of drugs. "She had complications from the use of dope. I guess things went wrong this time around."
Another source also told P.M.NEWS
this morning that "she had been into this drug stuff for some time now. I believe that contributed to her death." Goldie, who represented Nigeria at last year's Big Brother Amplified (BBA) in South Africa, is signed to Kennis Music.

EME boss signs N100m deal with Samsung

It's no doubt gonna be a good year for the EME boss (Banky W)who is set to release his alum in couple of days.
According to a reliable source EME boss has renewed his endorsement deal with Samsung Electronics West Africa, which is said to worth about N100m.
Banky and Nollywood star, Kate Henshaw will be the faces of Samsung Electronics West Africa Mobile Division. They will work together to raise awareness for Samsung mobile products, and ultimately contribute to making Samsung phones the preferred brand in the West Africa sub-region.
Banky W has in the past been
involved with Telecommunications Company Etisalat and Coca Cola Bottling Company, among others.
This is his second run as a

Wizkid not On Banky W’s R&BW Album

With the rumors going round that wizkid is out of EME,which Banky W confirmed was a lie in an interview with silver bird entertainment.
The EME boss (Banky W)'s new album titiled 'R&BW' will be released on Valentine's day the 14th of Feb., 2013. A tentative track list which showcases 15 songs has leaked and so far does not feature Wizkid. Via instagram Banky W unveiled the artwork of his album on the 7th of February, and also 12 tracks off the album.
The track list features usual suspects – the EME crew(Skales, Niyola, and Shaydee) Others are upcoming singer Sammy, US based singer Rotimi, rappers M.I, Eldee, Vector, Lynxxx, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, SA's L-Tido and Kenya pop group Camp Mulla. And Wizkid's name was not included meaning he is not on the album, fans are wondering if the young pop star (Wizkid) will make the final cut.
Others are also worried if Wizkid will attend the February 15 concert 'The Grand Love' project which is also his fixed date for the release of. His hit single 'Azonto' video.

55th Grammy awards; checkout the full list of winners

The 55th Grammy Awards held on February 10, 2013 at the Los Angeles' Staples Center and will definitely go down as one of the biggest highlights of the year. Lil Wayne Sued for Assault, Guy Claims He Was Clocked by Skateboard on Rapper's Watch

The rapper and his Young Money
Entertainment label and Trukfit clothing
line were sued today by a man who claims he was whacked in the back of the head by
"what appeared to be a skateboard" while
trying to take a picture of Wayne last year on a Los Angeles street.
"This alleged situation happened so long ago and really was not a big deal at the time," a source close to the matter tells E! News. "It is shocking to a lot of us that so many months later this is being brought to court."
Plaintiff Alfredo Marino states in the
lawsuit that he doesn't know who "intentionally struck [him] on the back of
his head"—hence the inclusion of Does 1
through 100 as defendants—but he believes
that the individual was working for or was
otherwise in the employ of Lil Wayne on May 3, 2012, when the alleged incident
occurred..
Marino is asking for unspecified damages to cover assault; battery; and negligent hiring, training and supervision.
A rep for Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., had no comment at this time.

An interview with Bank W With Silver bird Entertainment which he (Banky W) confirmed it to be a lie that Wizkid is out of EME.
He also said that the record label is currently reviewing the contract with the established act (Wizkid).
Banky W also said that Wizkid is going international (global)and as a
result we have to re-negotiate the
contract he signed with the label.
Wizkid as a human has his own
idea of how he wants to do things and he
has plans for his life and is still

2face Idibia to wed Annie Idibia on March 23 in Dubai.

Annie Idibia officially announced on her Facebook page that the white wedding between her and her hubby (2face) will take place on the 23rd of March in the beautiful city of Dubai.
It was earlier scheduled for February 14th but has been postponed.

A professional air force pilot sipped his coffee for the last time,wore his helmet and climbed unto his jet.He turned on the ignition with a smile on his face as he looked at his wife's picture he placed carefully close to his rear view mirror.
  Leaving the earth far behind as he soared above the clouds,although no one was looking,he straightened himself in his seat.After he reached cruising altitude,he heard a strange noise.He took his helmet off,and recognised the sound-it sounded like someone chewing on rubber or plastic.
  Peering down below the instrument panel,to his horror he saw a rat,out of his reach but eating up the main electrical wire between the jet's control/it's engine.
  If the rat were to cut through that line,the jet would be out of control and crash immediately,the pilot's first instinct was to descend-to do an emergency land.But he had flown so far that there was not enough time to land.
  So he decided to ascend-rats couldn't survive at higher altitude.The pilot quickly climbed as high as he could go,soon the sound stopped.
  When he landed safely,he found the rat dead.
  The pilot was highly trained at the top of his profession,but his safety was threatened by the appetite of one of the most primitive of animals-a little ret.
  Like the pilot,always decide to move higher towards your destiny even if couple of ni***s be hating on you and trying to bring you down.Just snub them and put on a smile on your face.
